3 Things to Make Money with Freelancing

I’ve struggled for months to make my first dollar online, and I still remember how I stumbled upon freelancing.

It was all luck for me at first, but I kept at it and discovered that you don’t need luck to make your first dollar.

There’s a proven process you can follow.

I’ve made thousands with different freelancing businesses, and for all of them, the money-making process was the same.

Today, I want to share the 3-step process I used to make my first dollar in various freelancing businesses.

Think of a freelancing business as an online bakery. Here’s what I mean:

1. Find a Hungry Crowd

To make money, you need to offer something people are willing to pay for.

First, learn a high-demand skill with a hungry and growing market. You don’t want to invest your time in a skill that no one is hiring for.

For example, with the booming creator space and the surge in content creation, I decided to learn video editing.

Everyone needs an editor to polish their videos. In a gold rush, don’t dig for gold—sell shovels.

2. Build Your Store

To get people to spend money, you need to show them what you can do.

You must demonstrate that you have the skills to meet their needs.

Build a portfolio that showcases your work and results.

If you’re an editor, a solid portfolio is a must. It’s crucial for converting strangers into paying clients.

Your portfolio is your most important tool for client conversion.

3. Get Eyeballs

You won’t make a single penny if no one sees your work.

You need to let people know what you offer. Share your work and find those who need your services.

A common mistake beginners make is trying to network without showcasing their skills.

People only buy from those who are proven to be good at what they do.

That’s why I recommend building a personal brand by sharing your work.

This strategy helped me land my first video editing client within just 14 days.
